Job Description

RAQ continually seeks to diversify its market presence and portfolio in the Civil Contracting sector. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor for our project team who will share our passion for excellence and innovation. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge in quantity surveying and cost controlling in Civil Construction Industry within the United Arab Emirates.


Detailed Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage detailed project budgets, estimates, and cost plans.

  • Monitor construction projects to ensure completion within the approved budget and schedule.

  • Review, verify, and finalize contractors’ monthly payment applications, ensuring timely submission and completeness, including:

    • Measurement and certification of interim payments

    • Valuation of work executed against provisional sums

    • Assessment and certification of variations

  • Manage subcontractor payments and prepare variation orders.

  • Review and ensure that all insurances, bank guarantees (bonds), and related securities comply with contractual requirements.

  • Verify and review all documentation related to advances, payment guarantees, and bonds upon submission.

  • Prepare monthly cost reports, including cash flow forecasts and accruals.

  • Attend project meetings and conduct site visits as required.

  • Manage project close-out activities, including:

    • Final account settlement

    • Preparation of final payment certificates

    • Release of bank guarantees

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Quantity Surveying in the construction industry preferably in high rise buildings.

  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts, cost controlling and procurement processes

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.

  • Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques.

  • Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Excellent command in English (speaking and writing)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Proficient in using quantity surveying and project management software.
